Why do I do what I do?

Sounds like a bit of a tongue twister.  But it really is a valid question for each of us to answer when it comes to the important things in life, which for this post, is your current job and career path.

Why are you here and what are you trying to achieve?  Are you here to help or to hurt?  Are you here for positive change or just a paycheck?

I recently watched a TED talk by Simon Sinek, that ties in nicely with this post.

Speaking for myself as an Enterprise Architect,  I am passionate about IT architecture and I love what I do.  I am driven by the need to transform, innovate and improve whatever I am working on.  I want to make a difference.  I want to work with the best on this planet.  I am not interested in mediocre, half-arsed solutions – I want the most simple and elegant designs that meet my business requirements.

So ask yourself, what motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?  Why do you do what you do?
