VMware Explore – Early Bird Registration

Earlier this year, VMware made an announcement about rebranding their annual conference from “VMworld” to “VMware Explore”. From listening to Sandra Hann, VMware Senior Director, on the VMware Communities Roundtable podcast episode 600, it sounds like VMware has more than a name change in mind, but a change of focus and format as well to align with their multi-cloud SaaS strategy.

Due to the pandemic, this will be VMware’s first conference at Moscone since 2019. And from listening to episode 603 of the VMware Communities Roundtable podcast, it sounds like the vExpert program and the vBrownbag are committing to this in-person event for 2022.

VMware Explore 2022 US will be from August 29 to September 1, 2022 and VMware Explore 2022 Europe will be from November 7-10, 2022. If you cannot make it, rest assured, VMware will be running this as a hybrid virtual event, similar in experience to VMworld 2020 and 2021.

In summary, I think attending this VMware Explore event will be quite special, since it will the first VMware event post-pandemic with the new name and format. Hope to see you there!

BYOIP to VMware Cloud on AWS Partner Network Blog Post Published

I recently authored this AWS Partner Network blog post which describes how to Bring Your Own IPv4 address to VMware Cloud on AWS using AWS Cloud.

This was driven by AWS customers wanting to migrate hundreds of legacy applications into VMware Cloud on AWS that have a static public IPv4 address constraint. They could not use the DHCP function from Amazon’s pool of public IPv4 addresses that VMware Cloud on AWS supports.
